Allowing Reports to Be Submitted While the Coruson app is Running in the Background on iOS
1. Enabling Background App Refresh
The Background App Refresh feature is toggled on by default, however your IT team may have disabled this as part of your internal processes to rollout the iPad within the organisation.
To check if the Background App Refresh is enabled:
- Tap Settings
- Locate the Coruson Reporting app on the app list
- Tap Coruson Reporting to open the app settings
- If it is disabled, toggle Background App Refresh to on
2. Activate Badge Notifications
Badge notifications should be activated to provide a visual confirmation of any outstanding tasks on the app. This is useful to identify if you have any reports in the Outbox that have not yet been sent to Coruson. For this to function, Notifications should be enabled on the iPad.
To enable Notifications:
- Tap Settings
- Locate the Coruson Reporting app on the app list
- Tap Coruson Reporting to open the app settings
- Tap Notifications
- If it is disabled, toggle Allow Notifications to on
- Select the alert format you prefer
- If it is disabled, toggle Badges to on
3. Toggle On Keep Me Logged In
As the Coruson is a secure system you will need to authenticate the app to run in the background. This can be done by switching on 2 features:
- Remember Me
- Keep Me Logged In
To enable Remember Me:
- Open the Coruson app
- Enter your credentials
- Toggle Remember me to on
- Tap Login
- Open the Coruson app
- Open the Coruson menu and tap Security
- Toggle Keep me logged in to on
Important Note: If keep me logged in is not displayed then the Remember Me feature was disabled when you logged in. To resolve this, log out of the app and then log in again double checking that remember me is enabled.
