How to Schedule an Audit

Audits are used to manage and assess your compliance with standards and policies within your organisation, and can also be used to schedule reviews and risk assessments.
This article outlines how to schedule an audit and is split into the following sections:

Important Note: The Coruson Administrator must have created an Audit Type and Audit Workflow before an audit can be created.
1. Individual Vs Series
Coruson allows you to create an individual audit or schedule a full series of audits.
An individual audit can be considered an ad-hoc, or a reactive, audit. It is scheduled as a standalone exercise. In some cases you may complete the audit and then schedule a series of audits to cover this area in the future.
A series of audits are audits that repeat on a set frequency.
For Example: You may need to achieve ISO27001 for data security and so you would schedule a series of internal audits throughout the year. You would also have an annual external audit scheduled to maintain your alignment with the standard. If you experience a breach or non-conformance at any point in the year you may choose to run an individual audit to assess the current state of play.
2. How to Schedule an Individual Audit
- Open the Audit module.
- Click on the Add icon and then select Schedule an Individual Audit.
- Update the required fields:

- Audit Type: The type is the main category of the audit and is initially set up by the Coruson Administrator. Types can be used to pre-configure attributes of the audit, such as the numbering sequence, the default checklists, and the report forms to be used during the audit.
- Audit Number: This field is automatically completed by the system. It is determined by the Audit Type chosen.
- Primary Scope: This is the main area of focus for the audit. Additional scope items can be added later if required.
- Title: The title field is automatically filled in with the name of the Primary Scope item. However, this can be edited to be something more meaningful to auditors and auditees.
- Purpose: Optionally fill in the Purpose field. Enter further information regarding the reason the audit is being carried out.
- Lead Auditor: This is the person in overall charge of the audit. This can be changed later if required.
- Start Date: Enter the date the audit is scheduled to start.
- End Date: Enter the date the audit is scheduled to end.
Note: All fields with a * must be completed.
- Click Schedule.
3. How to Schedule a Series of Audits
- Open the Audit module.
- Click on the Add icon and then select Schedule a Series of Audit.
- Update the required fields:

- Repeat: Select how often you want the audit to repeat; Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Repeat Every: Select the number of days, months or years the audit is to be repeated.
- Repeat On: Select the date the audit is to be repeated on.
- End: Select from never, after, or on that you want the audit to stop repeating.
Note: All fields with a * must be completed.
- Click Schedule.
