Introduction to Dashboards
Adding a Widget
You can add new widgets from the icon in the top right that says, “Add Widget”.
After clicking this a box will be displayed with the names of different modules, going between each of these is done by clicking on their names. This will then display each section that can be displayed, for example, if you open the documents tab then click the plus symbol next to any of these sections (for example distribution) this will display a drop down with the different widgets that can be displayed. Once you have found the one you are looking for just select add and this will then display on the dashboard when closed.
Configuring a Widget
Once you have added the new widget you can configure it. To do this you will need to click on the drop down located inside the widget and select configure. After doing this a box will display, this will give you the configuration options Visuals, Filters and Groups.
Visual
This will let you change the appurtenance of what is displayed on the dashboard. It will let you have the name to whatever you want and also let you change what kind of chart is used.
Filters
This will give you the ability to narrow down what is displayed in the widget. Using ‘Documents with outstanding approvals’ as an example. You can change what document type it pulls this information from, the specific owner of the document. The owner of the document and the Task owner.
Groups
This will let you change what group the widget will pull its information from. Using ‘Documents with outstanding approvals’ as an example again, it will be set to Due/Overdue as a default, but this can be changed to display the document type, Owner, Author and approver. Each group that you select will give you different option on what you will be able to display.
The last option at the bottom of groups is ‘Then By’. This will let you add another group into the display. For example, if I select ‘Due/Overdue’ in ‘Group By’, then select ‘Owner’ in ‘Then By’ it will display the number of due/overdue documents next to the name of the Owners, showing how many they have.
If you need to remove any of the widgets, this can be done by selecting the from down clicking remove.
Moving a Widget
The Dashboard will also allow you to move any of the widgets to be displayed anywhere on the dashboard. To do this you drag and drop them where you want, the only pace you can drag them from in the 9 small Squares on the to left of each widget.
Adding and Removing a Dashboard
If the dashboard that you currently have is looking cluttered or you would like things to look a bit more organised, you can add a new dashboard at any time. Simply click the button that says Add Dashboard at the top of the screen and give it a name. if you ever need to remove on of these dashboards all you have to do is hover over its name and click the x. This will delete the dashboard.
