Understanding mobile app sign-in changes
Who is this article for?
Mobile users who are with native login.
No permission required.
To keep your data more secure, sign-in sessions on the mobile app now expire after a period of inactivity, meaning you may occasionally need to sign in again.
Understanding what's changing
Sign-in sessions now expire after inactivity to improve security.
This applies only to native sign-ins (username and password). SSO sign-ins are unaffected.
Understanding why this matters
Previously, signing into the app never expired, even after months of inactivity. This posed a risk if a device was lost or stolen, as someone could access your account indefinitely. Automatic session expiry now resolves this issue.
Understanding what this means for you
Your experience depends on your current situation:
- Using an older app (4.2.1 or earlier): Sign-in required every five days
- Using latest app (4.3.0 or later, from Sept 2026): Stay signed in; logged out after 30 days of inactivity
- Signing in via SSO: No change
Understanding key points
- Remember Me and Keep Me Logged In still save your login details, but on app versions 4.2.1 and earlier, they won't stop the five-day sign-out.
- You won't lose any reports, drafts, or unsent items; these remain on your device even if signed out.
- Update to Mobile App 4.3.0 when available to remove the five-day sign-in prompt and enjoy up to 30 days between sign-ins.
- Infrequent users may see more sign-in prompts until they update. We recommend updating promptly to avoid this.
Note: This update enhances your account security. After updating the app, you'll remain signed in for up to 30 days, as before, but with improved safety.
